It’s a great time to do some spring cleaning. You’ve taken the cushions off the sofa and cleared out the loose change and crumbs. You finally dusted the dresser in the bedroom, and collected several hand-fulls of small coins. As you were packing away your winter jacket you reached into the pockets and found not only the ticket stubs from that movie you saw in December, but also your Christmas wish list, and yes, a few loonies and a penny or two! With your new found wealth in nickel and copper you can either go down to the corner store and buy some licorice, OR, you can help fund a film and have a roaring good time while you’re doing it! (pssst, don’t tell anyone else, but you might also win something really cool). Oh, and you can still buy the licorice, but buy it from us at the PARTY instead!!
Follow this link for more details about the event
(and, if you’re going to buy a ticket via paypal, please include a message with your payment that gives your email address for confirmation)
Seriously, what else would you be doing on a Wednesday??
See you there!
Gettin’er done,
Andrea
I’ve been considering change. Change, it is said, is inevitable - the only thing we can count on (other than death and taxes). Sometimes it is forced upon you, and sometimes it is the only thing left to do. My Dad used to say, “If you don’t change direction, you’ll get where you’re going.” So it seems significant that we decided to make this film with change. It has become clear to me that the currency of change that is getting this done, isn’t just the coins in the jar. It is a shift in attitude, a change in direction.
Kris has been doing everything ‘right’ to get his first feature film made - he’s been directing award winning short films for years and has been part of a team that has several features in development. Every time he makes a short film it is meant to be a ‘calling card’ to prove his talents and push those projects in development towards production. But, if Kris didn’t change direction, he was going to get where he was going - he would be an award winning director of short films with a collection of features in development. So he made a change! And a stunning number of people have been supporting this change - and with change, we’re gettin’er done.
One more thought -many of our supporters are members of the film community - actors, directors, producers are so ready and willing to empty their pockets to help us - perhaps because they know something about getting films made in Canada. Should this tell us something about they way we do things here?
Gettin’er done.
Andrea
