AT HOME BY MYSELF… WITH YOU
‘Girl meets boy. Girl falls in love with boy. Girl can’t leave her apartment.’
ROMY SCOTT is afraid of several things; lobsters, closed boxes, kissing, storms. Her worst fear is of going outside because every time she does, something bad happens. Like her parents die in bizarre freak accidents. Or she kisses a boy and gets a nasty lip fungus. Or she gets mugged. So, at age 30, Romy decides she’s not going to go outside anymore. Period. She constructs a new life inside her apartment and figures out how to negotiate her debilitating fears by using the help, kindness and certainly pity, of a few close acquaintances. But when her most important helper – the kindly old lady who lives in the apartment across the hall – kicks the bucket, Romy is left in the lurch.
Things go from bad to worse when the old lady’s nomadic nephew arrives to squat in the empty apartment before his next big adventure. Romy quickly learns that this guy is going to be no help at all. However, their initial mutual aggravation leads to friendship and incredulously, Romy begins to conquer her fears one by one with his help. As they fall for each other, Romy finds herself at a crossroads; the man she loves is by nature, a man on the go.
